This online certification will provide teachers with learning experiences about different types of rubrics, components of an educational rubric as well as guidelines for its design and development. It will enable teachers to determine from a myriad of sample rubrics and references the instrument that meets their needs and interests. Therefore, teachers will be able to design and develop their instrument to evaluate students’ work in their respective academic discipline.

Objectives
After completing this course, the student will be able to:
1. Develop an understanding of the guidelines that apply to educational evaluation rubrics, while learning the different types and format of such instruments.
2. Conduct research to evaluate educational rubrics that will enable the development of an assessment instrument for their instructional needs.
3. Practice the recommended guidelines to develop the content and format of an evaluation instrument.
4. Design evaluation rubrics that align with the needs of their academic discipline and task assigned to students.
